Glass Rigs Cheap May Not Be Your Best Bet
When looking for a good glass rig or glass recycler rig online you will see this a lot. Just like any other product you get what you pay for. However, when it comes to rigs and recyclers it can get pretty crazy. The fact that you’re going to have to get used to, is in general glass dab rigs are not cheap.
GLASS RIGS CAN BE EXPENSIVE
From what I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot of rigs, everyday market rigs are going to be priced anywhere from 15% – 25% higher than a glass water pipes. That is why I always recommend starting at your local shop. You can browse around and get a feel for the rigs that interest you. Plus it is nice to support your local shops every chance you get. Some people however have to do their shopping online. That’s OK, there are some great options online as well. Prepare to spend anywhere between $80 -$200 for a decent piece.
First things first. ALWAYS insist on American glass. Do not waste your time with anything except American glass. Ask your shop employee, email the online shop, do all the due diligence that is necessary to ensure your piece is American made. There is no compromising when it comes to quality. I will be addressing this in future articles.
GLASS RIGS AND GLASS WATER PIPES ARE DIFFERENT
Remember, glass water pipes are not the same as glass dab rigs. Rigs do not require a carb or choke. Water pipes use a choke or carp to manipulate the smoke intake. Even though you have the ability to use a water pipe with concentrates I would not recommend crossing products. Even if you currently own a water pipe I would highly recommend finding a rig or recycler for your concentrates. Your overall experience with your concentrates will be better tenfold. My preference has always been a glass recycler rig.
BIG DECISION
So now that you have decided to move forward with a piece for your concentrates, you’ll have to decide whether you want a straight rig or a recycler rig. I will be getting into the differences of both in future articles. Once you have decided that, head out to your local shop and take a look around. These shops are filled with great people eager to introduce you to the wonderful world of concentrates.
Ask questions; don’t be afraid to ask what you don’t know. Most of the customers in the store have no idea about concentrates either, and sadly some of the employees don’t either. Do not be insecure about being aggressive with your questions. You’re going to be make a pretty hefty purchase. You mine as well get it right. Like always I’m here to help. Please send me any questions or feedback you may have.
TAKE YOUR TIME; THIS IS THE FUN PART
Take your time and get something that fits you. Stay away from the bells and whistles. When it comes to concentrate equipment, the more simple the better. Way too much junk is out there that has completely over complicated this industry. Make sure your piece is big enough for adequate water movement. Especially if you’re picking up a recycler. If you’re new to concentrates, I would focus on the medium to large rig or recycler pieces. They tend to work better for the newbies.
